VMware NSX
Overlay and routing design, microsegmentation, fabric integration and NSX migrations, distributed IPS/IDS
What we do
-
Overlay and edge design
Transport zones, edge clusters and Tier-0 and Tier-1 gateways designed for your traffic patterns.
-
Routing and fabric integration
BGP design and integration with spine-leaf fabrics, including moves off Cisco ACI.
-
Microsegmentation
Distributed firewall policy built from real application flows, rolled out without breaking production.
-
Multi-site networking
Stretched networks and federation for active-active and disaster recovery designs.
-
NSX migrations
NSX-V to NSX-T moves, including Cloud Director environments, with a tested cutover plan.
-
Troubleshooting
Expert help when the overlay, routing or firewall isn't behaving as expected.
NSX Federation Design from Real Life
Common questions
Can you help us implement micro-segmentation without breaking applications?
Yes. We start by mapping real application traffic, then build distributed firewall policy in stages so rules are proven before anything is enforced.
Do you integrate NSX with physical fabrics like Cisco ACI?
Yes, including designs that move overlay networking off the fabric while keeping routing stable.
Can you migrate firewall rules and security groups between NSX environments or from 3rd party firewalls?
Yes, including scripted migration of groups, services, and policies, so rule sets move accurately instead of being rebuilt by hand.
Do you design multi-site NSX for disaster recovery?
Yes. We design stretched and multi-datacenter networks so workloads can fail over without re-IP, with routing that behaves predictably during a site failure.
Can you review our existing NSX deployment?
Yes. A health check covers design, Edge sizing, routing, firewall policy, and upgrade readiness, with findings ranked by risk and a clear remediation plan.
Do you handle NSX upgrades in production?
Yes. We validate compatibility across the stack, plan the upgrade sequence and rollback points, and run it within your maintenance windows.
Can you design NSX networking for Kubernetes workloads?
Yes, including NSX for VKS,Tanzu and container networking that gives platform teams self-service without bypassing security policy.
We're considering Nutanix. How does Flow compare to NSX?
They solve similar problems differently. We can compare networking and security capabilities against your actual requirements, including what a migration would involve.
Should we use NSX or Cisco ACI?
They work at different layers, so it isn't always either-or. ACI manages the physical fabric, while NSX handles networking and security inside the virtual layer, closer to the workloads. We help you decide where each belongs, including whether to simplify the fabric and move overlay networking and segmentation into NSX.
Why use NSX instead of traditional VLANs and firewalls?
Traditional networks tie workloads to physical topology. That makes changes slow and east-west traffic hard to secure. NSX lets you create networks and apply firewall policy in software, per workload, without touching the physical network for every change. It isn't the right fit for every environment, and we'll tell you when your current design is the better choice.
